Detroit Restaurant Week: Santorini Estiatorio

The Detroit Restaurant Week (DRW) scene is getting a little old for us, but we still headed down this year to check out Santorini Estiatorio, a newer joint in the Greektown area of Detroit, opening in what used to be Mosaic (ironically, where we went for DRW in the Fall 2010).  We even managed to convince Kate, Joe, and Amy to join us!

In browsing their menuSantorini offered a nice selection of traditional greek fare, again similar to Mosaic; however, they did a nice job at remodeling this location adding much more light  and making it feel like more of a family-style, casual restaurant rather than the former, more formal setting.

Scottie and I were actually the only ones to order off the DRW menu, and overall, we gave this place a thumbs sideways.  The food was fine, but nothing that we would probably go back for as we can get much better mediterranean food up at our favorite Birmingham joint, Phoenicia.
