After a brutal night game loss against Purdue (at least Tony had fun at the expense of us Wildcats), Scottie and I enjoyed a weekend off from traveling by apple picking by day and partaking in Oktoberfest by night.
Since Oktoberfest was in the air after our trip back to Chicago during the Guinness Oyster Festival, we decided to head to the Dakota Inn Rathskeller for one of their Oktoberfest evenings with Joe, Kate, and Amy. For the entire month of October, the Dakota Inn celebrates 'Germany's traditional fall Oktoberfest" in their main hall, which consists of jolly music (including sing-a-longs and impromptu dancing with chicken hats all-around) and rotating German beer specials. Tonight, they were offering a special to buy this large 64-ounce beer stein filled with beer and you get to take home the stein. Impressively, both Scottie and Joe were able to finish it at least once. Maybe even twice. Needless to say, we ordered some german pretzels at some point in the evening to wash those big boys down! Thanks to Kate for driving us all back home safely as well. What a trooper.
Read more about the Dakota Inn from our first adventure there back in 2009 here. More pictures in my photo album.
