Post-graduation festivities, we promptly took off for Chicago arriving within an hour or so of the wedding ceremony for Omar and Tricia. Since we know a few things about weddings, we quickly divided and conquered tasks: Scottie parked and I checked into our boutique hotel, the W Hotel Lakeshore (hooray, nice deal on a fantastic hotel!). We hit the showers, dressed, grabbed a cab (since we missed the complimentary free shuttle), and arrived at the ceremony with time to read the program!
I think we were both happy that we didn't accidentally miss this ceremony since Omar and Tricia did a nice job of weaving in culture and personal stories to the program. A major piece of the ceremony centered around two letters written by Omar and Tricia to each other telling their story and why they were marrying the other one. Half the story was told in Spanish, while the other half in English. Scottie and I never did get around to one of the Spanish-speaking guests to help us translate, but let's just say, from the English standpoint, it was a remarkable, emotional experience.
For the main event, we ended back to the W Hotel up to the top of the building to the revolving rooftop banquet room, Altitude, for cocktails, dinner, dancing, and much more. We ended the night in their rooftop bar, Whiskey Sky!
Congratulations Omar and Tricia!
