Coach and AG

Travel season resumed this week with a trip back to Providence for a very special wedding.  No sooner had we checked into our hotel than we were walking down to meet up with Coach, AG, and the rest of the gang at the Union Station Brewery to kick off a weekend of fun!
The next morning I took the MBTA train from Providence into Boston arriving in the South Station; however, I promptly headed straight for the local Starbucks to meet up with some college friends: Paige, Jess, and Erin for the morning/early afternoon.  Strolling through the Financial District, we strolled through part of the Rose Fitzgerald Kennedy Greenway en route to the North End.  While it was recommended that I conduct a taste test comparison between Mike's and Modern cannolis, I decided to just opt for a small cannoli from Modern Pastry.  It had some dark chocolate chips on top and was certainly divine.  After attempting to walk that cannoli off along similar paths that Scottie and I took on the last trip to Boston, we dined at Mother Anna's for some authentic North End Italian food.
By early afternoon, I headed back up to Providence to get ready for the rehearsal and rehearsal dinner for Coach and AG.  We spend a lovely evening catching up with old friends at Bravo Brasserie for dinner and then we headed back to the Union Station Brewery to meet up with the extended family of Chi Phi's.
Wedding day! Hooray! Allison and Sean picked a lovely setting for the wedding outdoors at the Kirkbrae Country Club.  Their ceremony had some nice touches especially when AG's parents walked down the aisle halfway, split apart on either side of the aisle to present their daughter.  AG walked up to greet them and then three of them proceeded the rest of the way down the aisle.  I usually like to watch the guy when the gal walks in; however, I couldn't take my eyes off this glowing bride!  Plus I was pretty fired up to see that the daisy was chosen as part of the bouquet!  At the end of the ceremony, we were also excited to see the "breaking of glass" tradition carried out successfully unlike our botched attempt.
At the reception, I was happy to present Allison with a Guinness for our photo!  There were also some more fun traditions including the Hora and something about folks from Pittsburgh who make cookies for the reception.  Post-reception, the gang headed over to Ri Ra for some more drinks, dancing, and a whole lot of fun!
Cheers to Coach and AG!
