Tigers vs. Boston Red Sox

Tonight we broke our streak of attending Tigers vs. Seattle and White Sox games by attending a Tigers vs. Red Sox game.  It was actually a last minute ticket offering by a friend (Alan) of Nick's from Boston who was in town with a group of other fans that have been attending Boston road games since 1998.  As we walked up to our seats, it wasn't hard to spot them with their t-shirts that said “Following the Sox on the road since 1998 – B Strong” on the front and listed the cities on the back.  Very clever!
One of the members of the Boston crew, Jim Jones, after retiring in 2001 began pursuing his lifetime dream of seeing every major league ballpark in America and writing about his experiences.  He's written three books and has quote the website (Ballparks Across America) filled with photos of every fan he meets and recaps from each of the ballparks he's visited, including the minor league parks.  This guy was certainly an inspiration to us both as I'm sure Scottie and I would love to do something like this upon retirement as it combines three of our passions: travel, baseball, and beer!  You can find Jim's excerpt from our game here and the photo above is cataloged here as well as with our individual team fan pages!
Besides meeting up with Alan and Jim, the only highlights for us during the game was a Miggie home run and the Firkin' Fridays deal at the ballpark, where we were able to to get a Dragonmead London Brown!  Otherwise, the game pretty much was out of Fister's hands and into Lester's hands by the 4th inning.  The Tigers mustered a few runs in the later innings, but the Red Sox just kept closing the door with more hits and runs.  Boo!
