Today marks the official day of Spring in Michigan as Bell's Brewery in Kalamazoo releases its fermented wheat ale, Oberon. This is one of our favorite beers in Michigan and in the United States. We equate this beer with Spring/Summer, outdoor concerts/festivals, and sporting events like Detroit Tigers baseball. We even managed to spring for a few cases to have at our wedding.
This year, according to a video on MLive.com, Bell's will produce at least 200 barrels of Oberon filling 2500 cases of bottles. In addition, they will produce 300 barrels to fill 540 kegs to be distributed to a fourteen state region and the District of Columbia.
Cheers! And don't forget the orange.
