At long last, we finally visited one of Birmingham's popular dessert venues,
The Cupcake Station. This shop opened 3 years
claiming to be one of the first of its kind in the country and the first in Michigan to bake daily 25 different cupcakes from scratch! Their cupcakes come in a variety of
unique flavors including a Vanilla Latte, Hot Fudge Sundae, Station's Samoa, What's Up Doc, and PB & C.
We were able to customize a few cupcakes based on a
pre-set of selections as a birthday gift for James, who happened to remember a
comment/blog post I made a long time ago about this being one of
J.J. Redick's favorite spots in Birmingham. Of course, we also took home some mini-cupcakes just to see what all the fuss was about, and now we can completely agree. While I don't think our blood is rich enough for an entire cupcake, these mini ones hit the spot and they were just as fresh and tasty as you can imagine.

I have the biggest sweet tooth and the Cupcake Station is one of my favourite Birmingham restaurants for cupcakes - German Chocolate or The Tortoise are my favourites.
